“I've had many, many iPod shuffles for swimming over the years. My last one just died and I tried several options and am happy to report the Sewobye is my new favorite. I have tried devices 3 times the price and the Sewobye is very reasonably priced. It's small. Has a clip that securely attaches to the back of my goggle straps. Was easy to transfer MP3 music files from my iMac to the device. Yes I'm old school and since I already had the MP3 files and playlists didn't need to get a fancier device that'll work with Spotify or Amazon Music Unlimited where I'd need to pay a monthly fee and update the playlist every 30 days. It has an indicator light that will tell me when the battery is getting low and I need to recharge it. Also has shuffle mode which is an essential feature for me. It sometimes has a brief moment of silence during flip turns but not always. I'm using Swimbuds Sport earphones so the sound quality is good & I know fit me well. I can't speak to the earphones that come with the device. It's too soon for me to comment on the battery longevity. Overall it's a keeper.”

“I have been swimming with this waterproof MP3 player since last October. I try to swim several times a week. Listening to music has made such a difference in how fast and how long I swim. I am now up to one hour. It is not difficult to download music onto it. I do it at my public library, where they have thousands of CD’s. The true test of a product is the support. I had an issue with the earphones, one side stopped working. The company stood behind their product and replaced it. No issues with the MP3 player. The sound quality is good for swimming. I can tune out all the sounds at the pool and just get into my zone. Very easy to switch songs, increase or decrease volume. Ingenious device! Holds a charge for quite a while - two weeks maybe. When it is losing the charge, it becomes difficult to increase the volume, which is a great reminder to charge it. I am a customer for life. Great product, great customer service.”

“Worked great at first. When I first got this mp3 player in, I immediately plugged it into my pc and loaded up a few songs. It was easy to click and drag files onto the device with no issues. I took the player to the pool to try it out. Headphones were surprisingly comfortable and worked very well. Sound quality wasn't top notch, but it certainly worked as intended. Being under the water seemed to make the sound quality better than in air. I'm not sure of the science behind that, but it was great. It made my morning swim very enjoyable. Bonus, it kept water out of my ears too! Buttons worked well, everything was as I had hoped. When I went home, I unplugged the headphones and left it on a table for the day.

I came back later that night to load up more songs and it won't connect to my pc anymore. Driver says "Device Descriptor Request Failed". I haven't touched the device in over 6 hours, I hoped it would've dried out by now. It refuses to read. Even after updating, uninstalling, reinstalling, with no avail. So I'm stuck with the few songs I threw on with no chance to change or add on. I only hope it can still charge or it'll be a one time use player. Geez, That'd be a waste of $60...

Great initially, but running into software problems after one use. Not so great... If I had thrown everything I wanted on there at first, I don't think I'd recognize the problem so soon. Especially since it developed this issue after a single use in water.

It works, but not great.”

“I've bought about a dozen mp3 swimming headphones in the past ten years. these are the first that have lasted. the others all fell apart or stopped working suddenly. I even bought one for my mom so she can listen to music when she swims.

also, they have good customer service. I had an issue with the cord that connects the unit to my laptop to charge and transfer mp3 files, and when I contacted the company about it they sent me a new one that works great for no charge.”

“I use this product because I hate exercising. I workout in the pool which was mind numbingly boring. I prefer reading a book to swimming!!! Well now I can swim and listen to my audiobooks or listen to music, and I actually look forward to exercising in the pool.

Very easy to use, absolutely works under water. When I had a question after purchase, support immediately answered.

I bought a few cheaper models and they broke after just a few months and support could care less because it was after the Amazon minimum.

So I decided to spend a little more and purchase from Sewobye and it was worth it.

Better design, better sound.”

“This is by far one of the best purchases of my life! I bought the product on 2019 and I was using it every day until COVID hit and the pools were all closed. After COVID, I couldn't locate the USB charger so I decided to buy a new one and the company had a very few days delay in sending it which really was not a big deal at all! But they sent a free headphone with it too only for that few days of delay! The MP3 player has a great voice quality. The sound comes out equality from both ears and surprisingly the maximum sound is actually very high (not annoying!! I like to have it in medium to low! I don't like loud music!). I use it an hour at the pool and the battery last all that time and I charge it every couple of days! It is SO easy to connect it to a computer and transfer music. I wash it after each time I use it and I made sure never charge it when it is wet (Not rocket science!!!). Unfortunately a few days ago it stopped playing and after contacting their customer service (they respond VERY quickly!), they gave me instructions to troubleshoot and once we realized that somehow water has gotten into it and the drying did not help (I should have contacted them the moment it stopped working and maybe could save my MP3 player). So, eventhough the warranty on my player was past the 1 year period, they actually gave me a new one for free!!!! I could not believe it!! I love this MP3 player and I am pleased with its wonderful customer service and I highly recommend that you actually read the manual and if you ever have any questions just ask them! Don't hesitate to buy this product. I promise you won't regret it!

Have fun swimming!!

Updated: I have my 2nd MP3 player sent by their amazing customer service for free! I still am in love with the sound quality and great headphones! When I swim, the attach my player to my swimsuit and it has NEVER fallen! Also after taking it out, it does not leave a mark on my swimsuit like some other products. It is a great product, just buy it!”

“DO NOT BUY THIS YOU WILL WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! Can not get it to sync with my music, everything is in MP3 format, but just as you start the the sync the USB ejects and stops the sync. After hours of trying different ways to sync and finally giving up I am out $60 and left with no response from the company that made it and Amazon. Extremely disappointing that this was a featured item and that it has so many great reviews - they are all lies.

Update on product: After several attempts and many hoops to contact the seller of this product I was given a refund (which was 100% deserved considering the product I was sold did not work) and the seller offered to send a replacement. The replacement took a couple of tries to sync to the music and will only sync 1-2 songs at a time. Can't speak to how the quality is under water considering I recieved the product right before a global pandemic and all the pools are closed. Posting an update now because I got a harassing message from the seller saying that its "so sad" that it's been 3 months without updating my review. 2 stars because the hassel of this whole thing was a waste of my time, but I have a product that can load music. Had I known it was going to be a bad experience from the get go I would have just picked something else. Customer service is terrible considering they guilt you into updating your review after a terrible experience.”

“I've been swimming w/the Sewobye MP3 player for almost 2 years and love it. It's the first and only waterproof MP3 player I bought, so I cant compare it to others, however, I dont need to because I'm very happy with it.

I swim anywhere between 45 to 90 minutes, and the battery lasts multiple swims, but I charge it every other swim or two, that is after waiting for it to dry. 24 hours is all I found it to need, and just to be safe, you can use a blow dryer to make sure the audio port is dry. Their website has detailed instructions, video, and tips on how to take care of your device; beyond the scope of the user manual.

I cant swim w/o it, it keeps my ADHD mind entertained w/plenty of audiobooks and songs. And, no more listening to repeated, overplayed gym speaker songs, yay! If the playlist bores me, no problem, it's super simple to transfer files onto the player, by copy & pasting files through File Explorer. A minor problem, but easy fix is that sometimes when plugged in during transfer, I lose connectivity and my computer won't recognize the device, but all I have to do is play around with the cord & USB port connector to get it going again.

If I want to change songs or volume while swimming, it's easy to locate the raised buttons w/just your hands, and keep swimming. The ear buds are snug, inner ears stay dry & buds never fall out, not even during lap flips.

Just as important as drying out your MP3 player is to please make sure you register your device online! Dont forget, do it after purchase because if you register your product, the 1 year warranty get extended to 2!!

I'm having issues w/mine now, can't get it powered up, and customer support has been wonderful with assisting me. Any email I sent they have gotten back to me within less than 24 hours. Cant wait to get back in the pool!”

“I got this player to wear while swimming laps. I have only used it once and will update after more usage. The only problem I had with them is that the tree-style earbud tips do not fit my ears. I used the more common style that came with them and they did not stay in well. I would not blame this issue on the manufacturer/seller, as the earbud tips included may work perfectly for others. If you have this problem, I ordered some memory foam earbud tips that I think will stay in better and should create a good seal.

I get my music on Spotify and the answers to questions about getting music from Spotify onto the device were useless. To take a song or playlist from Spotify, it has to be converted to an mp3, as Spotify (and other music services) use a special format to prevent piracy and ensure the artist gets paid for every play, which I totally support. However, if you wish to use songs from Spotify or something similar, you need to download an app that converts the songs. Google "mp3 converter" with the name of your music provider and a bunch come up. There are free ones, but it takes a minute or two to convert each song. Paid apps do it more quickly. The app creates a file folder and saves the converted song in it. Plug the player into your computer with the included USB cord and open it in the file explorer. There were two "how to" tracks on there already. From there, just drag and drop the songs from the converter file folder to where you opened the player in file explorer. In the file folder for the converter app, the songs appear in separate file folders, by artist. You can drag and drop them like that and the player will just play the songs without issue.”

“Biggest rip-off I've ever seen on Amazon. Seriously.

First of all, I would like to state I had a more expensive underwater audio iPod Shuffle for years - never EVER gave me issues, but during a recent move, I lost the shuffle. So I looked online and saw this and decided to try it out.

This MP3 player is about 5 times larger than an iPod Shuffle. Seriously bulky. ok - but its about 1/4 the cost of my underwater audio shuffle, so I was ok with the size.

Transferring MP3 files over to the player was awful. I tried two different mac's and multiple USB connections - the MP3 player would suddenly turn off in the middle of a transfer - even after a full charge - I was only able to move about 100mb of files across each time - and by the 5th time, my macs failed to recognize the player at all.

But I had some music on it - so decided to take it for a swim. It lasted about 20 minutes. Completely dead.

I have no recourse now but to totally NOT recommend this product. Extremely frustrating. $60 completely wasted - but I don't care about the refund, its the hours of frustration trying to get the device working that I lost. DO NOT BUY.”

Through the real user review of Sewobye waterproof mp3 player , it can be seen that it is a good product for swimming. However, its disadvantages are also obvious. MP3 has no Bluetooth connection mode, so it is not so convenient to use, and there are still cable troubles. Therefore, a pair of swimming headphones is a good choice if you want to listen to any audio you want during swimming or daily exercise. There are many headphones on the market, and the most comfortable design is bone conduction headphones, because it is not plugged into your ear, and it is also suitable for many sports. Therefore, if you want to find a headphone that is more comfortable to wear and more free to use, Wissonly Hi Runner bone conduction headphone is a good substitute.

r/HeyNewGadget - MP3 player for swimming:Sewobye waterproof mp3 player review

Hi Runner is a bone conduction headphone. The advantage of this type of headphone is that the ears are free and you can hear the surrounding noise. Safe, light, comfortable, sound quality, easy to use ... It is really an ideal headphone for sports and daily life.

Wissonly is the fastest-growing brand in the past six months. Their team is a technical expert in the field of bone conduction headphones. As early as 10 years ago, it began to develop bone conduction headphones that do not hurt the ears. With the excellent bone conduction vibration unit optimization scheme, it has been recommended by many ear doctors and has been recommended by many YouTuber.

Wissonly is a wireless bone conduction headphone with Bluetooth and MP3 modes. You can use the Bluetooth mode when you are in a place with a Bluetooth signal, and you can use the MP3 mode in places where it is not convenient to carry a mobile phone such as underwater sports. They are also very powerful in MP3 mode. They have 32G built-in memory and can store 5000 songs. Their battery life is strong, and they can listen to music for 10 hours, which makes up for the disadvantages of wireless headphones.

r/HeyNewGadget - MP3 player for swimming:Sewobye waterproof mp3 player review

In terms of fit and comfort, the overall frame of the Wissonly Hi Runner is made of adjustable aviation-grade titanium steel, which can adapt to different sizes of head circumference and ensure the Fit and comfort of wearing. The surface of their headphones is made of high-tech hypoallergenic silicone material, which does not contain chemical ingredients to avoid allergies. The overall touch of the headphones is as silky as a baby's skin, which avoids uncomfortable situations when worn for a long time. And they are very light, less than 30g, and they will not feel heavy when worn.

When you sweat a lot when running or doing other sports, or when it suddenly rains when you run or exercise outdoors, then the waterproof performance of sports headphones is very important. As the flagship model of Wissonly, the waterproof grade of Wissonly Hi Runner Sports Bone Conductivity Headphone reaches IPX8 waterproof grade higher than the industry standard. It allows the wearer to work normally when swimming or diving, not to mention sweat prevention or ordinary waterproof.

Due to the special technical principle of bone conduction headphones, it is more difficult to improve the sound quality. The Wissonly Hi Runner subverts the traditional sound quality solution and uses a large wire-frame vibration unit as a breakthrough. Through structural optimization, the effective vibration area is increased, so that the sound has a good performance in both treble and bass.
