Jabra elite sports earbuds review:Waterproof & Running Earbuds

Nov 29,2023 | David

The Jabra Elite Sport Earbuds is one of the more popular sports headphones in the market today. They are designed for athletes who want high-quality sound and sweat-proofing. They're also designed to be lightweight and comfortable, with a secure fit that won't fall out while you're running or doing other sports. These TWS earphones have a heart rate sensor on both earbuds and the real-time heart alerts come via the app or voice notification. The battery life leaves a lot to be desired at 4-5 hours, but its charging case makes up for it perfectly.Apart from all those, the Jabra Elite Sport is filled with smart functions through the Jabra Sport Life App. It has features like automatic repetition counting, activity analysis, pace calculator, and personal coaching to name a few. This powerful app is nothing short of helpful.

“I absolutely love these ear buds, they are perfect for running and working out. I was apprehensive about getting a pair of wireless ear buds and I was also worried that the price was a little too steep. I've had them for a little over 4 months now and they work perfectly, I've never had an issue with them falling out or losing connection with my phone. You can use them for almost any activity, I use mine for crossfit and I wore them while training for a half marathon which was in May. They work really well with the app, which has a training section that talks to you while you're running to let you know when you're going slower than the goal you set. The earbuds can keep track of your heart rate but beware it's not reliable. The sound quality is amazing and the volume can get very high so you can drown out noises around you. If you want to listen while to music in one ear and keep one muted you can also do that too! The connection on these puppies is amazing, I can be 2 rooms away from my phone and still hear music. Lastly the battery pack is a life saver for those who, like myself, always forgets to charge their devices. I can get 2 full charges out of them and they'll last a little under 4 hours! Yes the price is high but they're reliable, the sound quality is amazing and the fit is second to none!”

“I was originally concerned that they would fall out as I would be using them for running and boxing. After two weeks, four or five runs and a hand full of heavy bag workouts I’m very pleasantly surprised with how well they stay in my ears. I used to use over the ear headphones and even then, they would fall out from time to time on the heavy bag. These are very snug, but I easily forget they are there. Even with the most rigorous heavy bag workouts they don’t even seem like they move let alone feel like they will fall out. I have hearing damage, so I can’t weigh in on sound quality accurately. I was also surprised at how small the case was. I was expecting something the size of a cigarette pack. Instead its about the size of four flash drives taped together. The best feature is the music turns off when you pull the right bud out. It comes in handy more than I was aware when I wear them at work and someone wants to strike up a conversation. I’ll give an update after a few more weeks. But first impression is they are performing well worth the price point.”

“Finally found a pair of earbuds that stay in place while working out.The 3 tips with 3 wing combination allowed for a very good fit.I do have to push in for heart rate monitors about 2 times in 45 minutes of running but they aren't falling out.You get get feedback on your workouts ,similar to The Polar Watch but with the added ability to listen to music. The music is good but not great ,the max volume is loud but is isn't overly loud so some people might want more. The app works well but needs a couple of other machines, like elliptical and stair stepper. I like the voice coach as well.”

“I have small ears so earbuds don't fit into my ears properly. In the instructions it is mentioned to rotate them after they are inserted, but they are so bulky that it can't be rotated in my small ears. I tried every size and type of ear tip and wing and found all of them caused so much pain. It's just so uncomfortable to wear.

I also don't like it's physical controller. You have to press the buttons pretty firmly while wearing them to skip/volume up/down, means it's like pushing these super bulky plastics into ears. I wish they would be touch-sensitive.

Sound quality is just okay, not as good as I expected for the price. Details are all buried in massive but bland bass.”

“These are fantastic for sports. I've been using them for running and biking (just right ear when biking). Be aware that right earbud is master, so, if you wanna use it as I do for biking (only one side), you can do it only with the rough side.

BATTERY: the battery life is as advertised, around 4 hours and you get 2 more charges with the case.

IMPORTANT: they fit nicely, buy it hurts a lot. I've tested several combination of the accessories that come with the headphones until I got the one that I feel most comfortable with, actually I'm using smaller size for my left ear compared to my right. Anyways, they still hurt, with the time less, but if you use them more than 2-3 hours, then you need to rest your ears a bit.

I got SquareTrade protection just because I read lots of bad reviews, but, it's been 2 months using them regularly and they work just fine. Sound quality is good enough.”

“Very waterproof and stays in ears. These have been the only ear buds that can stay in my ear while running without any trouble. They are a little uncomfortable and buttons are hard to press. But i sweat ALOT on my runs, normally going through other headphones once a month. These are the first then can survive my sweat, and stay in my ears without ever needing to readjust during a run.

I rinse them off after A run and pat them dry and leave them out to fully dry before placing them back to charge and that seems to be working great”

“If you are thinking about these, just go ahead and pull the trigger. I had 2 pair of Jaybirds. The first pair were awesome. I washed them in the pocket of my running shorts and they were destroyed. The second pair would only connect if my phone was in my right pocket and they fell out of my truck accidentally and I ran over them. Destroyed. I decided because of the connectivity issue to try the Jabra. Night and day difference and the Jabra’s are the best I have ever owned. I had to go back and look this purchase up to write this review because my housekeeper washed my Jabras yesterday in my running shorts. When I found them this morning and turned them on I couldn’t believe it, they worked perfectly!! Slapped some new rubbers on them and bam, good as new! Just buy them. You will be glad you did.”

“Other then what the headline states the included silicone/rubber earbuds are cheap, see what happened to mine when I tried to switch it to another earbud. This was the second chance I gave this brand and my last. But really, the horrendous sound and the fact my ears hurt after one easy workout killed it for me. I also noticed a static on my left earbud :(

Get the Boss SoundSport, they are on sale until the end of year, even though they are goofy looking they sound the best and fit comfy... and the buds are magnetically secured to the case unlike the Jabra's. I wouldn't buy these at $49.99, not worth it. Very disappointing!”

“I was hesitant to buy the Jabra Elite Sport earbuds, partly due to the cost and fear of losing them during use. I chose these earbuds over the other Jabra models because they had more options with the gel inserts and ear wings for a more precise fit, they are waterproof and the three year warranty. So far I'm extremely impressed with the fit, comfort and performance. They do not fall out, even when getting sweaty during an intense spin class. Two thumbs up!”

“I was really excited towards using this product in my workouts. This product comes with 3 ear-wings and tips (S,M,L) and claims to provide a good fit in your ear. This product falls short in almost every department!

On my first running I have noticed that the HeartRate monitor is spotty, comes in and out. At the end of the running the Heart Rate graph looks like swiss-cheese, with multiple 'holes' throughout the workout. The earbuds do not fit well into the ear. The fitting is PAINFUL in all sizes/tips combinations. I have been reading several articles which reviewed this product and this is a common thing (the pain) and the general advice is "keep using it, it might soften eventually". NO THANKS! I should not feel like someone is tearing the cartilage in my ear when I exercise.

I reached out to support and they were unable to help. 1/10 - would never buy again.”

Through the real user review ofJabra elite sports earbuds, it can be seen that it is a good completely wireless sports earbuds, and its sweatproof&waterproof performance makes users satisfied. But it also has shortcomings, such as the use of control buttons is complicated and inconvenient. It is an in-ear earbuds, which is easy to cause ear discomfort after being worn for a long time and easy to fall off when running or doing other sports. There are many sports headphones in the market, and the most comfortable design is bone conduction headphones, because it is not plug into your ear. Therefore, if you want to find a sports earphone with a more comfortable wearing experience, Wissonly Hi Runner sports bone conduction headphone is a good substitute.

This is the fastest growing brand of bone conduction headphones in the last six months. The team are all engineers with 10 years of accumulation in the field of bone conduction technology. They started to develop bone conduction headphones that don't hurt ears as early as 2012. To solve the problem of sound leakage of bone conduction headphones, wissonly has made comprehensive improvement in the aspects of vibrator, body design and software optimization.

Wissonly Hi Runner’s body is made of titanium, which can self-adjust the fitting position to ensure a good wearing experience for headphones, so that more people can wear it. Hi Runner sports bone conduction headphones are open-eared and worn directly on the temples, so your ear canal is completely open, which makes it easy for you to hear the sound of cars and traffic lights outdoors in sports scenes such as running and walking, making you safer to use.

As the core component of the product, the headphones plays a key role in the product experience. Hi Runner model is equipped with Bluetooth 5.0 chip, which makes Bluetooth connection faster and more stable. It also has 32GB of built-in storage so you can use it as an MP3 player.

Other parameters of Wissonly Hi Runner are also excellent. For example, the waterproof level reaches IPX8, and you can wear it to swim or even dive. The battery life reaches 8-10 hours, which is very important to me, because I go out for running or other sports on weekends, and I go out for a whole day.
