Nov 14,2023 | David
Sony introduced its latest TWS wireless earbuds WF-C700N in 2023, which has three-level active noise reduction, wind noise reduction and IPX4 waterproof function, and can realize adaptive sound control. For example, if you detect that you are waiting for a bus at a bus stop, you will automatically switch to the environment mode, and then automatically switch back to the noise reduction mode after getting on the bus.So is it worth buying? “I am a life long fan of Sony..and recent convert to Samsung. I will say these are my first earbuds, so my review is biased coming from headphones only.
They have multiple tips to get a good fit. They also, in the app, have an option to help get a proper fit using the camera.
They have multiple modes, not only the ambient noise vs complete noise cancelling, but also settings based on running, sitting, walking etc. I'm new to all of this, but these are great. I can sit in my office and choose to hear almost nothing or faintly hear everything in the office.
They also seem to run at least one full day(8 hours) on one charge and apparently their little case also seems to recharge them when they aren't plugged in. I may be confused on this, but it seems that way based on the app showing charge level of both buds and their case.
Overall, very pleased, Sony has been very good to me the past 30 years and it is products like this that keep me loyal. These paired immediately with my Samsung S22 Ultra and do not seem to want to pair with anything else, but for me that was ok as its the only device I used to stream music, :)”

“Pros-
-
Sound quality is best. Perfect balance of bass and trouble.
-
Equilizer settings can be changed as per one's liking.
-
Perfect fit for ears and very comfortable.
-
Very snug fit. Did not fall while running and working out.
-
Easy switch between ANC and ambient sound with one push of left earbud button. This is very useful if you want to talk to someone while listening music.
Cons-
-
Adaptive NC is average. But if you are buying earbuds you will not get good NC because of physical constraints. For best ANC one should buy bigger over the ear headphones.
-
360 reality audio is a gimmick because that app requires subscription.
-
No touch controls.
Overall best earbud with best sound quality and comfort fit.”

“I bought these and had them for 2 months before losing the case. I was overall feeling lukewarm about them, they're a little clunky, sometimes take finnicky adjustments before they seat comfortably, and the sound quality is good but not great. The mixing felt a bit hollow at times, but I'm not sure how to describe it technically. Battery life is good. I didn't like the layout they chose for input button controls on the ear buds. The best thing I can say about them is the noise cancellation feature works impressively well, it's the best I've experienced.
I was satisfied enough with my purchase, but not thrilled. Then sadly the case fell out of my pocket while I was wearing them the other day. I contacted Sony support about replacing the case and they essentially said too bad do you want to buy another pair? This seems to me like bad design and philosophy. I'm left with two totally functional ear buds that connect to my phone that I can't charge anymore, and they want me to get a new pair. I wouldn't have bought another pair anyway, but this left a bad taste in my mouth. Disappointed in Sony here after being a fan of the brand for years.”

“These earbuds are definitely quality. While they live up to their description, the active noise canceling can be worked on. Wearing these are almost total immersion. And a volume boost could be a bit better. These are super easy to pair and get working with immediately. One other thing I don't particularly care for is the fact that the case is so small you can easily lose it if you're not paying attention to the case or the earbuds.”

“The Sony WF-C700N are mid-tier in the 2023 lineup, but in overall performance, they are just as good (if not better) than the top tier WF-1000XM4 buds, that are just $50 additional at the time of review. So what do you lose in features for saving $50?
-
You get a much more subtle pair of buds with no gold accents
-
Since they’re slightly sleeker, you get a comfortable fit that creates a great seal. It does not stick out of the ear as much, which means it can also be an effective pair of sleep buds
-
ANC is 99% same as XM4 buds and XM5 headphones, ie, excellent. With a silicone ear tip that creates a great seal along with the mesh cover mic for ANC, the difference is nonexistent, unless you’re running a focused A/B test on noise cancellation
-
Tactile buttons on both buds - they work with gloves on
-
15h of playback (7.5h + 7.5h) - it’s about an hour lesser than the top of range ones. Since it offers quick charge, this is not a reason enough to upgrade in my opinion.
-
Great for physical activity including running, just like the XM4s
-
No aptX or LDAC support but if these are a very strong consideration, you wouldn’t look at these anyway.
-
The call quality is decent, not as clear. Doesn’t suppress the background noise like XM4 buds/XM5 headphones but they’re decent for phone/zoom calls.
Overall, I’d recommend these if it means cost savings over the upgrade.”

“Very good set of ear phones, light weight, very portable it’s convenient holding case that keeps your buds charged. these have a low profile and sit flat her to the ear, which is great because you can fit a motorcycle helmet over the top without having the buds pulled out. The a NC works so well it takes up a lot of the wind noise from the helmet and allows you to listen to the music comfortably. Running and doing other active sports these earbuds did not move or fall out of my ear or become uncomfortable after prolonged use. I did not run into any issues of the battery’s dying at all. The Sony app for the earbuds is OK gives you lots of control and options however, it did take a few minutes to figure it out even though the ear phones connected immediately. That said when installing the app it asks you for everything to include a registered account and your personal information. You can use the ear phones without the app, but with limited controls and going through some menus using the buttons blindly through a series of push button sequences. The app is way easier. The sound quality is very good listening to the music quite clear with a good amount of bass. These will not blow your ears apart they do not need to as the a NC works very well. One of the settings in the app caused the ANC to keep cutting out and going to hear through based on adaptive setting, even though my surroundings did not change. It is my recommendation to either leave them fully on or not at all. These are my new favourite earphones over my other premium earphones at a similar price.
The quick take away is the a ANC works very well. The sound is good make sure you check the settings in the app and limit your self with the amount of personal information required for installing and using the app.”

“These earbuds sound good and has good battery life. The case feels very lightweight and thin. Not sure how it would withstand a drop or two. The earbuds, as most do, come with multiple size ear cups. Once in the ear they are comfortable and do not move around even while at the gym. My previous ones would start to work loose. When placed in the ear the earbuds do not protrude from the ear too much. The sounds quality is good, I like a bit more bass sound to my music which these lack the bass punch. Overall it has a good sound, clear and sharp. I have used these earbuds to make and receive calls and the caller said that I sounded clear. The case has a USB-C charging port , and a short cable is provided. So far these are working out well and I am happy how they sound. I have not really used the noise cancelling much since I am not in environments that require that function.”

“I agree that for the price, these are a very good set of headphones! I find the sound quality to be very good (which is why I have used Sony's for a long time, being really picky about this aspect of a pair of headphones) and unlike a set of air pods, these seems to stay put in my ears. I like running with my ear buds and these seem to stay in place really well, even when I run hard. My last set of running ear buds were Sony after trying Beats and Bose ones... and it appears Sony will be my running partner again. What was also important to me was to not spend $300 on a pair of ear buds, especially if they are used for running so this pair, seems to fit the bill really well. We will see if they last... I am usually good about keeping my buds charged so I am not too worried about the battery life. In terms of connectivity, while it does not connect or switch devices as effortlessly as a pair of air pods or beats, I have found switching between my apple watch and iPhone to be easy enough. My previous Sony's ear buds fought me a bit which is why I only used it for running (keeping it on one device) but this one swaps easily enough without forcing me to turn off the Bluetooth feature of the previous device.”

“Maybe I just got a bad set, but these are the absolute most difficult earbuds that I've ever owned. I've factory reset them at least 5 times and have wasted a good 2 hours of my life trying to pair 2 different devices. The instructions to pair a second device are to place the earbuds in the case, leave the lid open, hold the button on the back for 5 seconds. Sounds easy right? Nope. It's not. The buds will not enter pairing mode. Ever. I can connect to the first device, but good luck with the second. One thing I did learn when I was able to get two devices to pair, that one time, was to be sure to disconnect the earbuds from the first device. Besides the over-complicated method of entering pairing mode, I've had the earbuds only connect one bud, on a few occasions. So you'll get 1 bud to connect, and the other is dead. Trying to get them both to turn on was another clunky nightmare and I ended up just factory resetting them. I'm done messing with them, and they're going back to hell where they came from.
UPDATE - If you're using the "Headphone" app on an Android and want to connect to "pair" with a second device. DO NOT FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS ON SONY'S WEBSITE. They will only mess up your earbuds and make you frustrated. In the app under "status" locate the "Connected Device(s)" and tap that. The next screen you'll see a + button on the bottom right. Click that! That will put the earbuds into pairing mode. Good lord they made that difficult. 2.5 hours later I have them paired.”
The above are some real user reviews of Sony wf c700n earbuds. Generally speaking, this earbud is loved by many users. However, some users think that the earbuds are not comfortable and stable enough to wear and the waterproof level is not high enough. There are many running headphones with comfortable and stable wearing and high waterproof grade in the market, and bone conduction headphones are one of the most popular ones. Therefore, you can find headphones with similar performance to Sony wf c700n earbuds, such as Wissonly Hi Runner bone conduction headphones with IPX8 waterproof.
Do you know "bone conduction headphones"? Common headphones such as "ear canal type" and "inner ear type" are headphones that transmit sound by vibrating the eardrum by inserting the headphone into the ear hole. Bone conduction headphones, on the other hand, transmit sound by vibrating bone and cartilage instead of the eardrum. So you can hear without blocking your ear canal.
Wissonly's core team is a team engaged in the research and development of bone conduction products earlier. They have accumulated 10 years' technology in this field. They have adopted the best acoustic laboratory in the Eastern Hemisphere for sound adjustment. Wissonly Hi Runner has good technical solutions to the problems of sound leakage, sound quality and waterproof of pseudo-bone conduction headphones.
Hi Runner adopts an open-ear design, and its special working principle, the sound quality is not as good as that of noise-reducing headphones. However, Wissonly Hi Runner's design is completely unappealing, which reduces the damage to the eardrum and protects the ear to the maximum extent, and it can keep the ear canal clean and hygienic. This is a healthy and hygienic earphone. Its open-ear design also allows you to easily hear the sound of cars and traffic lights in outdoor sports scenes such as running and walking, making you safer when using.
Wissonly Hi Runner adopts integrated molding technology, with no holes in the headphones’ body and it is no splicing, which realizes IPX8 waterproof, and can be used for swimming and bathing. Even in the depth of 20 meters, diving is no problem. It also has 32G of built-in memory, which can store 5000 songs. You can use it as amp3 player when you don't have a mobile phone.
In a word, wissonly hi runner is a product with powerful functions, stable technology and high cost performance.
