Best workout earbuds:Jabra elite sports earbuds review

Nov 29,2023 | David

Compared with Elite Active 65t, Jabra Elite Sport is completely redesigned from the point of view of sports needs, which can be said to be a personal trainer attached to the ear. The familiar unilateral 6.5g lightweight experience will be more comfortable to wear with EarGels™ and EarWings™ patented ear glue technology. Jabra Elite Sport is fully upgraded compared with the step counting function on Elite Active 65t. It is equipped with in-ear heart rate monitoring. When used with App, it can be used for heart rate monitoring, maximal oxygen uptake test and workout prompt. Scientifically guide the user’s fitness exercise process, abandon foolhardiness and make workout intelligent.

“Best workout headphones I’ve had. I used to have Jaybirds and loved them. But the left ear started losing sound and I needed to replace them. Besides that, the only complaint was the cable would catch when I was boxing or laying down on a bench in the weight room. These are perfect. Sound great, connect easily, and most of all they’re SECURE. I weight lift heavily, run a lot, and I’m a boxer. And these stay put no matter what I’m doing.

I was worried at the number of reviews that said the left earpiece would cut out. But after nearly a month of heavy use I’ve never had connection issues.

Also love the battery charging case. Mine last a full week of workouts (4 days at just over an hour each) and then the case gives me another week!

The heartbeat sensor is a nice touch too. I workout with an Apple Watch (replaced my Fitbit) but the watch’s heartbeat sensor gets less accurate the longer I workout, or the sweatier I get, sometimes losing track for several minutes. The Jabra keeps track the whole time. My only complaint is that it doesn’t sync to my watch or Apple’s health app. Not a deal breaker for me; I’m not keeping tabs that closely. And maybe it will later with a software update.”

“They will do, and they work fine. They register my heart beat during work out, the app isn’t anything to get excited over. They play music and have buttons on the earbud, instead of ‘voice control’ that never seems to work right and who thinks Google, Amazon or Apple should have access to your mic whenever they feel like it, not me, I believe I have the right to privacy.

Major issues is the are way to big for my ears, it will work, they stay in, but are side ways to clip on a different spot on ear. I wish they made a girls set just like these only meant for small ears.”

“These have a great sound. Really long battery life for the money and ease of use. I use mine for workout and sweat resistant is true to words as you can get.

This is also a excellent device, but has one small issue. The earpiece with the microphone doesn’t fit as snug in your ear as promised unless you have large ear canals.”

“Easy setup, Great fit and sound, Haven’t had a chance to try out all the features yet but the heart rate monitor seems very accurate with a great app. Love the fact I can just take them out of the box and they automatically connect. They do feel a little different than regular ear pods (not in a bad way), it’s just that they fit so well in my ear. They will defiantly not come out while working out. Can’t wait to get to the gym. Granted some people may have trouble with the fit, but it’s probably because they are placing them in their ear wrong. It takes a little getting use to, but once you get it, they are the best. No need for the negative reviews because you can’t follow instructions. If they aren’t for you, Amazon has the best return policy, get something else. Sound quality is way better than the Apple air pods, which I like as well, however the air pods can come out during heavy workouts and they are not guaranteed to be sweat proof. The heart monitor, waterproof and fit is what really sold me on these and the fact, like the air pods they just work.”

“In the last month I’ve tried numerous other wireless bluetooth earbuds and these are fitting the bill! I loved the Bose sleep buds but all they do is play white noise. Apple and other bose buds were just not comfortable. The Jabra’s are circular and fit more in the ear and have numerous pads to fit for larger ear and canal openings. It’s very cool to have the heartrate monitor in your ear for workouts. I don’t sweat a lot but these have a warranty for that. I was mainly shopping for comfort, not audio perfection so I’m happy with these. I hope you can benefit from all my purchases and returns to find these. It’s a little hard for my old arthritic fingers to find the volume and phone answering buttons on the face, but I’ll get used to it with practice. I would recommend these. Good value for the money.”

“So after much reading, comparing, etc… between this earbuds, the Gear Icon, and a few others I purchased this Jabra. Overall, the look and feel of the product is excellent. The sound is OK, not much bass. I haven’t used it for phone call so there is no comment on this. The bluetooth connection is very easy but the range is only about 20 to 30 ft. I walk from my office into the other room and connection starts to go in and out. I dislike the charging cord since it’s really snug-I really have to work to get the usb cord plugged into the earbuds holder /charger. I could have worked with all said but returned the item because it does not fit properly. The right earbud is fine; it goes in easily and with a twist the earbud is set snugly. The left earbud presented a challenge. I tried many different ways of placing the earbud inside the ear canal; I stretched and pulled the earlobe til red and hurt. It was WAY TOO MUCH WORK to get the left earbud in. And so I am returning the item and giving this earbuds only a 3 stars.”

“I’ve had these headphones for over a year and I love them. I was honestly surprised to see the negative reviews and an average score of only 3 stars.

I use these headphones daily through rigorous, sweaty workouts and they work like a charm. They connect instantly to my phone or tablet, they stay secured inside my ears, and the sound quality is very good. My only complaint is that I wish they stayed snug further inside my ear. That could be due to the shape of my ear canal but the volume is a tad lower than I’d like bc it’s not fully inserted inside my ear. It’s not a deal breaker, just one minor point and overall I am very happy”

“I have used every type of wireless earbuds and have come to the conclusion that these are by far the best workout earbuds. The only downside with the Jabra elite sport is that after some time they get minor issues that ruin your day. These are very sensitive items and at some point I can promise you your earbuds will go deffective. I’m working with Jabra right now to replace mine.”

“Great product I’ve been enjoying using it for the last month. Sound quality is ok, lifespan is good. Fit is great (my left ear sometimes gets uncomfortable after longer use), definitely won’t fall out!

Issues: there’s a buzz/humming like sound when you are connected but not playing anything through them.

When using for phone calls outside, even small winds affect the microphone completely!

If you put them in before workout it’s great, if it’s mid workout, sweat in ear will cause the sound to become distorted, very hard to fix issue”

“I have had many pairs of wireless earbuds over the years and was looking forward to trying these as they have the little tabs on them that should secure them in your ear. Unfortunately, I was not able to get them to seat in my ear correctly. They didn’t feel secure, and we’re not blocking out any sound. Hopefully others are having better luck.”

The above is the real user review of Jabra elite sports earbuds. Generally speaking, it is a good completely wireless workout earbuds, but its disadvantages are obvious. After all, it is an in-ear earbuds, wearing it for a long time will still cause discomfort to the ears, not to mention using it in strenuous workouts. Therefore, if you want a comfortable wearing experience, Wissonly Hi Runner sports bone conduction headphone with open ear design and high cost performance are recommended.

Reason for recommendation:

I noticed Wissonly bone conduction headphones when they were first crowdfunded online. And later, I saw that some otologists were recommending them on online forums, so I bought them. This Hi Runner is their flagship product whose overall functionality is also the most perfect. The headphone use the latest research from the Wissonly lab. It increases the vibrating area of the vibrator by 35% and optimizes the direction of sound transmission to make the sound more concentrated, resulting in a wider range and more spatial of the music. The brand claims that its sound quality is HI-FI level, and I actually tested it myself. I thought that the sound quality was very close to HI-FI level, but it did not reach this level. Of course, the current sound quality is satisfactory enough.

The Wissonly Hi Runner bone conduction headphone has both Bluetooth and built-in storage playback modes. The new Bluetooth 5.0 chip has stronger anti-interference ability, which can easily cope with a variety of complex outdoor scenes and ensure that the good mood during sports is not interfered with by broken lines. At the same time, the stable connection also brings low latency performance, listening to music, watching TV, playing games are no problem. What’s more, they have 32 gigabytes of internal memory, which can store 5,000 songs.

In terms of comfort, the Wissonly Hi Runner performs well, it is very light, only less than 30g, and it does not feel any weight to wear. The body is made of titanium alloy which makes it have a good fit, and you don’t need to worry about their falling off during workouts.

The waterproof of the Wissonly Hi Runner deserves special mention, and it is IPX8 grade. It means that you can carry it underwater for up to 20 meters and still use it normally, which is crazy!
