“I bought these to replace the earphones that came with an MP3 player that would not stay in my ear while swimming. They needed to be readjusted at least once per lap. I have only used the Swimbuds once, but I was able to swim 72 laps without needing to readjust them even once. The audio quality is okay, not great. I had a wireless pair of earphones I used for swimming from Bragi that sounded great but they died after several years and the company is no longer around.”

“I love swimming and music. So from the early days of using an iPod shuffle in a silicone case with a cord to the bulky headphones to at lease three other types and styles of headphone with three other iPods (One flooded in the case…) to today with a silicone filled iPod that requires no case.

The headphones have had a lot to be desired, they can go too far in your ear and hurt but if you don’t go in the deep they will flood and then there is no music until they dry out. Then there is the human ear design, I have no idea why my left ear never fits right. I have gotten used to listening to my music on the right ear only as a result.

BUT! Now these Swim Buds are pure heaven! They fit, they stay in and they don’t flood! Yes they do down in you ear a bit and sometimes you have to fool with them. BUT THEY WORK! And the sound is among the best. I was concerned about the cost but I’m very pleased with the result.

If there is one request I would ask for is better instructions. Working with and coming up with the right fit for my left ear in particular took some fooling around that I think the Swim Buds people could have illustrated a little better in the documentation. But other then that these things work!”

“At this price it’s a no go to see the cable break — this is a clear design issue. Besides the material got sturdy after about 50 usages. Am not a pro swimmer, just a regular user (say 5 hours a week).”

“I’ve been swimming with audio for something like 10 years now. Not sure I can do without it! Finding the right fit for earbuds is always a problem. Once water gets between your eardrum and the speaker it’s game over! Swimbuds gives even more options than other underwater headphones with their wide array of tips. I was very excited to try the new “fins” design (the blue ones) but it turned out that the fin only worked best in my left ear. In my right ear I went with trees. Looks funny but it works for me! I have had several swims now with un-interrupted sound and no water in my ears. Success! I also like that they come with an extender. A few times I took my old swim headphones on a trip and ended up wanting to use them out of the water and was stuck with the tiny cord. A tiny cord is great if you are wearing your mp3 player on your goggles, but that is all it’s good for!

I think the price on these is pretty high and I sort of wonder how much less it would be if they didn’t package it with a bunch of running tips. I’m hoping the price difference would be negligible. But, I figure I will get about 150 swims a year out of these for many years so at the end of the day the cost is in line with the enjoyment I get.”

“I always had the regular swimbuds and they had a hard time forming a seal. Usually I’d be lucky if I can swim 5 laps before the sound is cut out in one year. It was so frustrating to the point I put my iPod away for over a year.

Then I recently noticed this product. After reading the good reviews I decided to get them. Oh boy that was the best decision ever. Today was my first time swimming 40 laps with uninterrupted great music and flip turns, and I I didn’t even wear a cap. I used the large tree tips and they fit really well. When you take them out you can feel a strong suction on your ear canal indicating a great seal. When I kick off the wall I can feel the water pulls the earplugs slightly but they didn’t not budge!

Make sure you use your opposite hand to grab the tip of your ear when you insert them so it makes sure they seat in your ear canals well.

I’m ecstatic cuz I can finally put my iPod back to use! If you’ve been struggling with fitting issues with the regular buds, definitely buy these. It’ll be your best swimming investment ever.”

“I had an older pair of these that wore out. When I first got them I didn’t like them but after some use I figured out how to wear them correctly. My only real complaint was that the rubber ear piece would often get stuck in my ear and I would have use a key or something else to pry it out when it would separate from the rest of the headphone. ( I am getting better at taking them off) When this pair wore out I tried several other headphones because these were pretty pricy and I just didn’t want to spend the money. In the end I bought these a headphones again. The short cord is a must and having something that seals in your ear is critical. I haven’t tried the other earpieces that come with the headphones. I wish there was more explanation about their intended design but the cone-style that comes installed is what I have used and what works. I like the little fabric case for storing the headphones. In my opinion this is still the best headphone for swimming on the market.”

“Had these for a couple of months now and swim freestyle laps with them. For almost every competing product out there with a good review there’s just as many poor reviews with people picking them up off the floor of the pool or else having poor sealing in the ears. At the end of the day if you’re swimming reasonably fast and pushing off the ends of the pool it’s all about those two things: creating a seal, and the buds holding in place. Impressively these are the two areas this product excels.

You have to be willing to try a lot of the different options with the included buds but you will eventually find the one that’s right — it’s worth the effort. In my case, tried medium and large, fins and trees and 2–3 times each before settling on large trees (about 7–8 separate swim sessions but worth it ). Generally from then on will only adjust my large trees subtly an average of 1–2 times on a 1km pool swim so that’s great performance for buds in my book.

Better yet, now I’ve got tunes I’m swimming longer, faster and more regularly so that’s really the best testament to the product right there. Nice job guys.”

“I love(d) the blue “Ogg” style ear buds

 — — — unfortunately these are longer included… they are A LOT better, luckily I still have a few from previous purchases

The wire sheath will stiffen with each use, eventually leading to cracks and premature wire failure

 — — since I swim every day, wires break between 6 to 8 months of use. A little expensive to replace with such frequency.

 — — I assume the vinyl is reacting with the chlorine in the pool water — not much I can do about that.

Otherwise, these are definitely my favorite headphones for swimming.

The frequency response is better than some other, cheaper models.

Personally, I find applying a (very) thin coating of petroleum jelly to my ears will make the ear buds easier to insert and helps keep a watertight seal.

If water does get inside my ear canal I can usually clear it on the spot and continue swimming (once I got the hang of it).

Only on very rare occasions have I had to resort to tissue paper for clearing water out of ear bud sound cavities.”

“This is my second pair of Swimbuds. I’ve always struggled finding headphones that would not leak while swimming. It must be some anatomical issue with my ear canal, because I’ve tried at least a dozen headphones — and all of them leaked or fell out at some point. These swim buds are so light that they actually stay in my ear. Short cord doesn’t get tangled up. And I guess the Christmas-tree tips are a bit different because so far these headphones are the only one that have not leaked, but I do have to insert them deep into ear canal. I use just a touch of petroleum jelly on tips to help the insertion and to moisturise ears, because these headphones (like most other waterproof headphones) can cause irritation of the external ear canal. There are a lot of tips to choose from. I use them in my Endless Pool, so I don’t know how they will perform in regular pool during turns and flips, but my guess is because of their lightness they will work fine. I don’t care much for clarity of music during swimming, but I found sound to be quite acceptable with these headphones.”

“I’ve purchased multiple sets of the standard Swimbuds in the past. While I liked them, they typically only lasted about two to three months before crapping out (hence why the warranty is so short I guess). I was excited to purchase a pair of the “new and improved” Swimbud “Sports.” The company claims they are superior but I couldn’t be more disappointed. First off, these things are huge (reference the pictures). They are big and bulky. No matter what ear tip you select, there is always going to be a giant “bulb” sticking out of your ear. That big bulky bulb gets in the way of pretty much any sport you can think of. While swimming, my arm frequently makes contact with the bulb, breaking the seal and allowing water into my ear and losing audio. Crossfit… don’t think so, again these things get in the way. Running… don’t try to wipe the sweat from your face with your arm, you’ll either knock the earbud out or accidently jam it too far into your ear where it hurts. Ouch! Sports… no freaking way. These big bulky things jumble around so much while working out they are straight up annoying. Back to swimming though. Even when you can get a good seal with these things, they crap out during flip turns. They are more of an annoyance than anything as one ear will go out and you’ll have to jostle the wire for them to kick back on. The only good thing about this purchase is the little zipper case that came with it. I’d go with H2O Audio instead, better product and better warranty.”

According to the user review of Swimbuds waterproof earbuds, it is a good product that can satisfy users. But at the same time, it also has some problems: Its in-ear design will make the ears uncomfortable easily, and it is a wired type earphone, which is very inconvenient to use. If you want to find a swmming headphone in the market that is more comfortable to wear, more easy to use and has a excellent performance, Wissonly Hi Runner bone conduction headphone is a good substitute.

Surprisingly, although the name of Wissonly Hi Runner is Hi Runner, it has an IPX8 waterproof rating higher than the industry standard, which allows it to work normally during swimming and diving, which it is a swimming headphone that deserves its name.

When you use Bluetooth mode while swimming, the connection may be poor and the sound will be intermittent.Don’t worry,Hi Runner equipped with 32G built-in storage, which can store 5000 songs, and supports two working modes of Bluetooth and MP3. In the scene of underwater sports or without a mobile phone, you can completely use it as a Bluetooth MP3 player. In addition, its battery life is very strong, it can be used continuously for 10 hours, and it supports magnetic fast charging, which takes only 2 hours to fully charge.

In terms of durability and comfort, you also have nothing to worry about. The whole frame of Wissonly Hi Runner is made of adjustable aviation grade titanium steel, which can adapt to different sizes of head circumference and ensure the stability of wearing. So you don’t have to worry about the size of the headphones that don’t fit your head or the ears that make the headphones unstable when wearing. Its headphone surface is made of high-tech low-sensitivity silicone material, which contains no chemical components to avoid allergic phenomena. The overall touch of the headphone is as silky as baby’s skin, avoiding uncomfortable situations when worn for a long time. Moreover, its weight is very light, less than 30g, and it will not feel heavy when worn.So you also don’t have to worry about uncomfortable wearing because of the material and heavy weight of the headphone.

Due to the special technical principle of bone conduction headphones, it is more difficult to improve the sound quality. For this reason, Wissonly Hi Runner subverts the traditional sound quality improvement scheme. They use a breakthrough large-size bone conduction vibrator, and through structural optimization, the effective vibration area of the vibrator is increased by 35%, thereby improving the sound efficiency of the vibrator and making the sound more shocking and powerful. Moreover, they also optimize the transmission direction of the sound, reduce sound loss during the sound transmission process, and make the sound more concentrated.

Its overall practicality and durability are very high, which is well worth trying.
