“I've been using the Bose SoundSport Free ear buds for a little more than 2 weeks now. When I first began using them, I had the feeling as if they would fall out with each step I took on the treadmill but they proved that feeling wrong. They've stayed firmly in place and with little to no ear fatigue or pain after a full hour plus of wearing them each day.

The sound quality is incredible. I was using Beats and a couple of other types previously but hated how hollow they sounded. I guess I made myself think that an ear bud couldn't really produce base or a full sound due to their small size. Again, these Bose proved that logic wrong. Great full sound at low or maxed volume. The gym I go to is rather quiet but with the small amount of time I've used these outdoors, I've had very little, if any, external noise issues affecting the sound quality.

As far as the rest of the complaints I've read on here prior to purchasing these. I was really concerned with the Bluetooth cutting out. Mind you, my phone is typically within 10 feet of me at all times and I have used these primarily indoors. Not once, has it cut out or had any other sound issues. Up to this point, these have played flawlessly.

The small case they come in is both a charger and protective storage case. I find this to be both convenient and smartly done. The case, from what I can tell, provides 1 full charge of the ear buds before the case has to be recharged. If both the case and the earbuds are low in charge - it does seem both charge simultaneously when the case is plugged in. I haven't timed a full charge but it certainly doesn't take all that long - maybe a couple of hours max.

Ultimately, these are well worth the price. The sound quality is my biggest weighted factor and they have far surpassed my expectations. I love them! The only downside to the Bose Soundsport Free ear buds would be the buttons on the buds themselves … they seem rather hard to press. This doesn't bother me as it's just as easy and convenient for me to do everything on the phone.”

“These are by far the most comfortable earbuds I’ve used. I can wear these for hours without any discomfort. I’ve used both over ear headphones and other earbuds from other makes and these are by far the most comfortable. I maybe an anomaly as other earbuds and headphones I’ve complained about don’t seem to hurt other people except for me. My ears are a bit on the smaller side and these earbuds come with different silicone ear pieces to fit various sizes.

On sound, these earbuds are pretty good. If you are buying these for sitting in your cubicle and listening in a relatively quiet area, you’ll find they have a bit too much bass. Some of that can sort of be adjusted by using the different size ear pieces as some won’t fit in as tightly into your ear which causes the bass to be deemphasized since it’s not making a tight air seal against your ear. It’s more like a hack if you don’t like thumpy bass. However, if you use these as they were intended, outside, in the gym, etc the bass seems about right. And that’s perhaps what Bose was thinking. Although, if the Bose app had some some bass/treble or EQ controls to adjust for different environments I’d give these earbuds 5 stars. So how about it Bose? Give us an app upgrade with sound controls for the different environments, please. Other than that, I’d recommend these earbuds. In my opinion they look and sound great. While I’m usually not a big fan of Bose speakers in the snobby hi fi world, I give credit where credit is due. Comfort and sound are very important and these deliver.”

“I purchased and received the product in April 2019. I was very pleased with the sound quality. True Bose sound as always. I did not like the size of the bud. I have a small ear canal and the smallest one is still too big. In Sept 2019, I started to have a problem with volume not working in the right bud. I called Amazon tech support and they walked me through some troubleshooting steps. It didn't work and they called the manufacturer. I was able to get an agreement to return for replacement.”

“Sound quality is fairly good I use this in my gym. It's loud in the gym and I'm able to hear my music without having to raise it all the way up.

There's no latency while watching videos on YouTube and the stay put on my ears. They also last my whole workout that's about 2 hours.

But they're not perfect

While talking on the phone only the right earbud has audio. I also experience ear fatigue if I use these for more than 2 hours they are slightly heavy.”

“The issue that a lot of the reviews talk about regarding watching videos has been fixed. The sound does match up with the videos perfectly now. Also I haven’t had an issue with one earbud cutting out on me like most of the reviews say. I do only use them while I’m driving in my work truck or at the gym. I haven’t been able to test out the distance until problems arise with connection, but they work perfect for me. The sound quality is amazing.

The reason I give 4 stars is because the buttons on the earpieces are very difficult to press. They’re like hard plastic buttons and you basically have to remove the earpiece from your ear to change or pause anything. But I use my phone for it all anyways so it’s not a big deal.

All in all, this is a good set of headphones.

After a week or so of having them, I definitely noticed an earbud cutting out randomly. Very unsatisfactory but still the quality of sound from these earbuds is phenomenal and unmatched by any others I’ve used. Definitely ain’t got nothin on the Apple AirPod Pros. The Bose are far better than them. Just the connection issue is the problem.”

“I’ve had these for 2.5 years. Mostly great experience. Love the sound quality and fitment. A little large but you don’t even notice and I could care less what they look like. My only issue is when working out at my local gym, the left EarPod drops and reconnects consistently. Not sure what’s causing it but that doesn’t happen at all at my work gym. Also, after 2.5 years I only get one hour of use on a full charge. Guess I expected the battery would last longer than that on such an expensive product. Use them just about everyday though, so there’s that.”

“I bought these 15 months ago for $199. Could not be more disappointed. I have had $19.99 earbuds that were a better value!

On the positive side, sound quality and battery life were good (as I would expect for 200 bucks!) But they were a bit "glitchy" at times -- only one bud would work or failed to connect entirely. Placing them back in the cradle to reset generally resolved those issues.

The biggest problem was they didn't last due to poor construction. As shown in the picture, three of the copper connectors in the right earbud simply disintegrated! Looking online I discovered this is not an uncommon issue. I'm throwing these in the trash and buying another brand with better reviews.

Bose, you need to go back to the drawing board with these -- they sully the Bose brand!”

“The Bose headphones are the best sports headphones I’ve tried. I’ve had two other brands and there’s always something annoying about every pair. For the Bose ones I don’t feel that they cancel noise well. This is probably good if you’re a runner and you need to be aware outside. However I go to a kickboxing gym with structured classes indoors and I want to drown out the pop music they play. I can still hear it with the Bose headphones turned up to the highest comfortable level (couple clicks down from max). The Bose headphones do perform well with pairing to my iPhone and I don’t have any issues there like I did with other brands. The controls on the headphones themselves are also superior though I don’t use that feature while in boxing gloves. I’m very happy that the controls aren’t just tapping the outside of the headphone like another brand I tried. I accidentally turned those off several times while stretching or wiping sweat which was a huge pain. They work great even when I’m 50 ft from my phone, they stay put through HIIT and boxing rounds, good for listening in general and good sound quality when not competing with gym speakers. Battery life is ok I can get 3-4 uses out of them. I generally wear them for about an hour at a time for boxing class.”

“I had B&O wired headset and the cord was on the fritz so I looked into headphones. This seemed to be a good alternative. I got them on sale, not sure if I would consider them worth full price. I noticed at the gym that even with the volume turned all the way up on the phone and the buds I could still hear some of my surroundings. The music quality is alright, I am a huge bass head so these don't hit as well as my B&O but I use them all the time. I can wear them while shooting (under my muffs), or out while hiking at half the volume and still be able to hear my surroundings. The battery life is impressive (this is my first pair of buds) I can wear them for hours on end, I have not timed it but I know I have had them on at least 5 hours at a time before and they still were not dead. For the price and a cheaper earbud these are good.”

“I owned the previous wireless sound sport headphones and liked them a lot. But the cable between the two sides got a little bit annoying at times. So when I saw these coming out I was glad. Little did I know that Bose apparently cut corners to get rid of the cord.

Design isn't terrible, but it should be better. They are bulky for this style and the buttons are annoying to use. The charging case is bigger than Apple's, but it's not that ridiculous. It's kinda hard to open at times also.

The sound was good not great. I can't put my finger on it, but at this price it should have wowed me like most other Bose products.

The features were the kicker though. These cannot pair to two devices simultaneously and remember previous devices like every other current Bluetooth Bose product does using the app. If you wanted to just use one headphone, it can only be the right one because that is the one that actually pairs to the phone. Bose designed it to then beam the audio to the left, which causes a delay in sound. Which makes these worthless for watching videos as the sound doesn't come through for 1-2 seconds. I briefly owned airpods and returned them because of the way they fit, but audio lag was not an issue with those which cost $90 less than these.

I'm still searching for something to fill the void for wireless earbuds, but until then I guess I'll just get some wired ones”
