Over-Ear Wireless Headphones for workouts:Skullcandy crusher evo review

Nov 28,2023 | David

When it comes to the brand Skullcandy, I believe that the first reaction of most people is the trend and coolness, including the classic Pilot series. As a headset manufacturer focusing on Hip-Hop and trend culture, Skullcandy has always been perform excellent in sound quality. In recent years, in order to keep up with the rhythm of the times, Skullcandy's product changes will be more radical than those of manufacturers with the same attributes, in order to completely get rid of the inherent ideas. This article sorts out some user reviews of crusher evo, one of Skullcandy's products, to analyze whether the actual performance of Skullcandy is surprising.

“I had gone back and forth for weeks on what headphones to get for my workouts, because no matter what I did, my AirPods just wouldn’t cut it. I went back and forth between Apple and Sony, and just wasn’t in love for the price. Saw a tiktok about these and pulled the trigger..so glad I did!! Love these. They stay on my head, battery life is insane, and sound quality is great. Plus the price tag was much better. Big win.”

“I bought these for my 16 year old son. He loves them. I normally quite dislike over the head/ear headphones as I find them annoying and uncomfortable. These were awesome! Not heavy and very comfy. And the sound!!!! Amazing. The vibrations were really cool. He uses them to workout at the gym and is loving them. These ones are not noise cancelling but he says that he can't hear outside noises if he has the heavy bass turned on. Excellent purchase.”

“Believe the hype , all of the people who have said that these headphones have the most bass they have ever heard in a pair of headphones.

I switched to these after the first edition of the Crusher wireless , they fixed every issue I had. The mids and highs don’t get mentioned much but if you listen to previous products you could appreciate the update.

Make sure to bring some headache medicine if you plan on letting these bad boys bump for more than an hour.

No no calculation but the passive noise canceling is good.”

“I watched some reviews, and expected a large jump in sound quality between my falling apart Crusher Wireless and the Crusher Evo. There wasn't that much of a difference, and not everything was better.

Pros:

More bass, though this could be because my old Crusher Wireless no longer seal properly.

Remembers volume when connected with Bluetooth.

Swiveling earcups make it easier to have one earcup on one ear and the other off.

Cons:

Very tight, I had to stretch these out for them to feel decent.

It hurt the top of my head to wear these for long periods of time, it also hurt my left ear, like it was squishing it for a long period of time.

Some sounds end up as bass when they are better off not. (For example, 60hz ground hum, common when using a line in port)

Bass doesn't work if using 3.5mm jack and battery is dead.

Something else I'd like to mention, which I consider a con, but it's probably only a con to me is that they for no reason replaced all the sounds of the Crusher Wireless with new, different beeps, and replaced the nice female robotic voice of the Crusher Wireless with a female voice with the strongest British accent I've ever heard. I could probably get used to it, but there was absolutely no reason for them to replace the sounds.

I ended up returning these, and got all my money back.”

“If you want a headphone that delivers then get this one. It shakes, rattles, and rolls!!! I use mine when I go workout at the gym. Long periods listening to them could get tiresome due to the vibrations, but you can turn that down and make them a normal headphone. Best headphones I have had for workouts! Keeps me pumped!!!! Highly recommended!!!!! Also very good on airplanes.”

“I used to own a cheaper pair of inner ear Skullcandy's that were freaking awesome. However, and unfortunately over the years I fell victim to great advertising and became a BEATS owner.

They were complete trash but they were a gift so I used them until they broke. I was never satisfied with them. They were never loud\clear enough and the bass was lackluster at best. So after needing a great pair of workout headphones I went back to what has always worked for me in the past. As soon as I put them on and adjusted the bass I literally wanted to cry. I don't care if I'm listening to R&B, 70's soft Rock, or Trap, these headphones go so damn hard. I'm literally in heaven. I not only hear all of the lows of the bass but, I FEEL THEM. I also hear every cymbal, snap and word. I was So excited I took them to work and put them on several heads so my friends could also experience this amazing product. I will never buy another brand again.”

“The Skullcandy Crusher Evo Wireless Over-Ear Bluetooth Headphones are a music lover's dream. With a whooping 40-hour battery life and an immersive extra bass tech, it's like being in my own personal concert!

They pair smoothly with my iPhone and Android devices, and the built-in mic is pretty decent for calls. These have become my go-to for workouts, gaming, and even during work.

However, the 'extra bass' can sometimes overshadow the mids and highs, affecting the overall sound quality. And they're a bit on the heavier side - something to consider if you plan on long listening sessions. But for those who love a deep, powerful bass, these are hard to beat. I'd rate them a solid 4 stars.”

“These are superior headphones. I bought them to listen to guided meditations but now wear them whenever I can. They work great for me in the gym, no matter what workout I'm focused on. I found ear buds didn't always stay in place and I wouldn't always stay connected to my iPhone. I can wander anywhere in my gym and never loose the sound. I really love having the ability to adjust the bass on the fly. The battery life also is awesome.

When I need to replace my noise cancelling headphone I will purchase the Skullcandy version.”

“overall I like these headphones so far

I've had a really good time I've had a really good time experiencing the bass feeling I really enjoyed bringing these to the gym to workout. I've enjoyed showing my friends and putting them on their head seeing their reaction the main thing is that these are a lot of fun and honestly I think most headphones kind of miss that at the end of the day they're just a headphone something to love and wear”

“These are the ones I tried so hard to like. I love the sound quality, I love that the bass is literally tangible. They feel sturdy, they look great, and they are really intuitive to use. Unfortunately, like with many over ear headphones, they are not comfortable for her to wear for more than a half hour at a time. The ear cups are too small for my enormous ears. The bottom of the cup presses just a tiny bit on the helix of my ear. At first this isn't a big deal, but after about 20 minutes it starts to hurt. I have tinnitus and I use music to drown it out at work, so I need to be able to wear a headset for 10-12 hours a day. These just don't work for that.”

Generally speaking, most users have given favorable reviews on Skullcandy crusher evo over-ear headphones, which shows that it is a good product for workouts. However, its heavy earmuffs can easily cause discomfort to the ears and head, so it may not be suitable for use in workouts. Moreover, it is easy to swelter and sweat in summer, so it is necessary to pay attention to this kind of earphone without waterproof performance. If you want to find a more cost-effective, comfortable and durable workouts headphone with good waterproof performance that can replace it in the market, Wissonly Hi Runner bone conduction earphone is highly recommended.

r/HeyNewGadget - Over-Ear Wireless Headphones for workouts:Skullcandy crusher evo review

Why I recommend it?

First: Hi Runner workouts bone conduction headphones are open-ear design, directly worn on the temple, so your ear canal is completely open, which makes you outdoors in running, walking and other sports scenes, it is easy to hear the sound of cars and traffic lights, so that you are safer when using. Traditional in-ear sports headphones can easily upset your ears, and this one doesn't have that problem at all because it doesn't need to be tucked into your ear and is more hygienic.

Second:When you sweat a lot when running or doing other workouts in the gym, or when it suddenly rains when you run or exercise outdoors, then the waterproof performance of sports headphones is very important. As the flagship model of Wissonly, the waterproof grade of Wissonly Hi Runner bone conduction headphone reaches IPX8 waterproof grade higher than the industry standard. It allows the wearer to work normally when swimming or diving, not to mention sweat prevention or ordinary waterproof. If you are a swimmer, then this earphone is more worthy of your consideration. It is also equipped with 32G built-in storage, which can store 5000 songs, and supports two working modes of Bluetooth and MP3. In the scene of underwater sports or without a mobile phone, you can completely use it as a Bluetooth MP3 player. This is really too convenient!

Third:One of the most important standards of workouts headphones is to be comfortable to wear, so as to improve sports efficiency and have a good sports experience. The overall frame of Wissonly Hi Runner is made of adjustable aviation-grade titanium steel, which can adapt to different sizes of head circumference and ensure the stability of wearing, so that it will not fall during exercise. The surface of its earphones is made of high-tech low-sensitivity silicone material, which does not contain chemical ingredients to avoid allergies. The overall touch of the earphones is as silky as a baby's skin, avoiding discomfort when worn for a long time. And its weight is very light, less than 30g, so it will not feel heavy when worn. As the flagship outdoor sports model of the Wissonly brand, it is the most comfortable and cost-effective model among all the current bone conduction models.

Fourth:Because Hi Runner is a wireless bone conduction exercise headphone that needs to be recharged, you may be worried that its continuous playback time is not long enough. But in fact, it has a strong endurance and can support 10 hours of continuous music playback, which makes up for the shortcoming that wireless headphones need to be charged. It is equipped with 32G body memory, as well as the latest Bluetooth 5.0. Its product performance and experience have been comprehensively improved, truly making bone conduction headphones suitable for more life scenarios.
