“I have used bone conduction and in-ear MP3 players for my swim workouts over the past five years. Personally, I prefer the in-ear players even though the headphone jack is susceptible to water damage. I have been using the SEWOBYE MP3 player since August 2022 (~7 months). I am using the Swimbuds Sport waterproof headphones. I find that these headphones fit and work much better than the one that ships with the player. The SEWOBYE has worked well until a week ago. It stopped playing music after 2–3 minutes. I contacted SEWOBYE support and they responded within 24 hours with several steps to take to correct the issue. One of the recommendations is to try the second USB cable that ships with the unit. Apparently, these cables can go bad after a period of time. My suspicion is that the salt and chlorine pool water damages (oxidation) the cable (i.e., the 3.5mm plug) over a period of time. The plug picks up the salt and chlorine when it is inserted into the unit’s headphone jack for charging and music downloads. I do dry out the unit before recharging. I also use a small swab to clean and dry out the headphone jack. Nevertheless, I still had this problem with the unit. Following the helpful instructions from the support technician I recharged the unit with a new cable and reset the unit (40-second press of the on/off button). Presto, the unit now plays music again without stopping as it did before. This is a very budget friendly solution for adding music to my swim workouts. I enjoy the small size and function of this player and have been pleasantly surprised by the responsiveness of the support team.

I do recommend this product with the caveat that it requires some care and maintenance. In particular, I suggest washing the unit, headphone cable and USB cable with fresh water after each use and thoroughly drying all components. Also, use a small cotton swab to dry out the headphone jack. If you are having trouble with your unit, try using the second USB cable that ships with the product. As I mentioned earlier, these cables (i.e., the 3.5mm plug) can degrade over time. Enjoy your workouts!”

“I think this is the coolest MP3 Player ever! It’s so small and clips right on my shirt. I like to use mine while I workout so that I dont have to use my phone and old earplugs that would always fall out. This is waterproof too so you can use anywhere even swimming. The way the earplugs are made they never fall out and I’m sure water wont get in your ears either. It was really easy to download music from my computer. It says its compatible with Windows and Mac….I have Chromebook and it still worked….I just had to play around to figure out how and did a free trial on Soundcloud to download from there. I think this is perfect for you if you like to exercise with music or to take music with you to a beach or pool but worry about getting an MP3 wet. It has a lot of space and can hold about 2000 songs and the battery lasts really long. I am pretty impressed with this little MP3.”

“They worked fine for about 4 swim workouts then stopped working. It wouldn’t charge. After about a month of it drying out it charged again. It then lasted about 2 swims and never worked again. They sent me another one. The new one worked for about 5 or 6 workouts and then hasn’t worked since. The company did not replace the 2nd one saying they wanted both of the swim buds back but I threw out the first one after I received the 2nd one. The company won’t make good on their fauly product now. I wasted my money. Almost $100 down the drain! Bad customer service. I love listening to music when I swim. It sounded good when it worked but it is not good for water, and it won’t recharge. I feel I was scammed out of my money. I will never purchase another Sewobe! Beware! Don’t be fooled! I have another swim bud that someone gave me years ago and it still works! Reason I wanted another one was to download my own music. “I love the sound quality of these TRULY waterproof headphones. They actually are noise- canceling too and I’m so thankful for this. I no longer have to listen to pumped-in songs over fitness club sound system. I can jam/exercise to my own playlist in the water! I clip the player to my suit strap and keep cords behind my ear; then cover ear plugs/pads with my swim cap. (I don’t use goggles).

It took a little fiddling to change the ear pads to the smallest size, but, it’s what I needed. I finally got the pieces to fit correctly. I’m not deducting any stars for this because I have really small inner ear openings. Most people would be satisfied with the ones that come already attached.

I have a MacBook Pro and no problems with transferring from iTunes to Sewobye player. I had to rename files to change the play order, but that’s very easy to do on the computer. Sound quality is excellent. I gave 5 stars for battery life because I am so pleased with everything else… so I hope it lasts. Best player I’ve found for my pool workouts. I also use in the fitness club’s jacuzzi and steam room with no problems.”

“Before buying the Sewobye waterproof MP3 for swimming, I had a different brand that stopped working after 3 months and had no one to turn to. I then purchased the Sewobye and have had it for almost a year and use it almost every day. It is great and easy to use. It is helpful that the volume buttons and rewind/forward buttons are separate. The sound both in the pool and out of the pool is very good unlike the previous one I had which you only heard well underwater. Only last week I had a technical matter for the first time. “I swim laps 1 1/2 hours everyday, I only have to charge it on Sundays and Thursdays. It lasts 3 days. (I have actually never had it go dead, I just charge it those days so it doesn’t lol) And holds plenty of music for me to never hear the same song twice in a work out. “I am a competitive senior swimmer and I have tried multiple times to get a headset and usb attachment to work i have purchased the unit three times and none work past the first couple of weeks. maybe a couple of times it works, then dies. i don’t know if it is the unit itself or the usb cable. most often it seems the cable. i have tried to work with this seller a long time, trying to get the unit to work but to no effect. it doesn’t help that the “customer service” person (which now say they don’t have) keep changing but i have hung in there because my wish that the unit would finally work was so strong. the worst part is that since i was one of the early users of the unit and was willing to hang in there, one of the representatives before Rachel and Jenny one of the reps told me “we appreciate your working with us and don’t worry…we are giving you a lifetime warranty”. What? Never heard of such a thing …. but she confirmed … why wouldn’t I? Anyway they are now saying they don’t give more than a year warranty. which may be true now….. but wasn’t when i started down this path with Sewobye.

“I loved swimming as a workout before but now that I have this, I can’t stop swimming. The music quality is so clear and the ear plugs have been fitting so well in my ears so no water gets in. I definitely recommend this, and also when using make sure to follow the steps, like making sure your headphones are playing/on before getting them wet otherwise they wont play and making sure they are dried/laid out after your workouts. “When I plugged the Sewobye Device Into My Comoputer, it Showed Up for a few seconds then dissapeared. I have reset it many times and get a message that it did not eject properly. With that it does not open when I reload it and thus is not able to upload any music. I could not even get to step 1 with this thing.

Functionally it looked like if it worked it would be perfect but the software is so bad that it cannot even open in a Mac. I will need to return it unless I am able to contact them.”
