“I've been working out a lot lately. These Sennheiser Adidas CX 680i Sports Headsets are still going strong. There are no complaints during workouts. It blocks out the gym's music. They produce strong sound with rich bass. Moreover, the mic works well. The only problem is the mic can be sensitive especially when it rubs up against clothing. The pros outweigh the cons with these earbuds. Most earbuds would have died under heavy workout abuse.”

“I was generally happy with the performance and sound of these. The bad thing came 6 months after I got them. The plastic piece of the buds was getting detached from the cable and I had to superglue them. I was out of the country so I couldn't return them. Then the jack started breaking. I'm generally pretty careful with my headphones, and it still broke. A month after that, the right bud stopped working, but the warranty had run out. It's a bummer that they barely lasted a year. I bought these because I thought they'd be sturdy enough for workout and heavy training.

I'm a bit disappointed at the quality. My last sennheisers had lasted until a vacuum ate them(and I got them out all chewed up), and the sound wasn't affected... I never thought the new ones would outlast that abuse again, nor did I tried to submit them to it, but I thought they'd be sturdier.

MEH... Also, I tried to contact sennheiser support through their website, and I never got to talk to a person. Just a printout for a return, but at the time I wasn't even in the country so I couldn't send them...”

“I just received these headphones while deployed here in Afghanistan, I am so pleased with these headphones. They have the most incredible bass and treble. I workout on a daily basis and currently training to be a personal trainer when I return from Afghanistan. These headphones stay in through every task Ive performed. Running, lifting, jump rope, etc. Block out all sound around you. The sweat proof feature tops it all off. I've went through 6 pairs of headphones due to sweat (Skullcandy, Dre beats, marshmallows). I highly suggest these. I give them a 6 out of 5.”

“I thought the sound quality was decent considering I am used to using a paid of high end Shure in-ear monitors. They are light in eight and fit my ear pretty well. I can wear them for an hour workout or run and they still feel comfortable. I like that I have the volume control on them, and it does not bother me at all while running.”

“I purchased these and after 3-4 uses during heavy workout with heavy sweating, they failed. I use them with iPhone 4. Apparently sweat gets into the switch and shorts it out. Using Pandora, it will repeatedly pause, skip songs, and start the voice command app. This happens continuously and actually had to stop using them during my workout since I could not listen to music (oh the humanity). I tried to clean the connector pin, but it made no difference. I returned the first set, thinking it was perhaps defective, but the second set did exactly the same thing. I do not think that a headset should be listed for sports use if they can not sustain prolonged exposure to heavy sweating. They sounded pretty good when they worked, and once they started acting up, there was a lot of static in the background. I will go back to using my cheapy set with no switches/microphones. At least they were reliable. I will be sending these back to Sennheiser. I have used Sennheiser products for a many years, but this one is a fail. I would like to have a similar set, but with no in-line switches or mic.”

“These are awesome, great Sennheiser product as usual!!!!

Used with: HTC Smartphone

Activities: Gym workouts, road cycling, lawn mowing

I tried a few brands, including the Bose ones as well. I love the fit and durability of these so far. They take the biggest "sweat bath" from my biking, just rinse and good to go. They take the most abuse during my 4 hour lawn mows. Between sweat, dirt, bugs, crud, and frequent "oh crap" moments when I yank the cord, they are holding up great.

Sound: very good for in-ear types (sound better then the Bose ones did). Help reduce the mower noise too.

Stay in: they have a few options for ear cones and the springy' retainers. They don't move.”

“When I first switched to these from my other generic ear buds, I was amazed at the depth of sound. These headphones definitely create a better sound stage than your typical gym earphones. They obviously don't have the quality of a high end audiophile option, but that isn't what they are for.

The quality is also very good, as I haven't had any issues throwing them into and out of my gym bag. The rubber cord is thick enough that I think it will last a long time before wearing through.

The volume button doesn't work on my android phone, which leads me to believe that it is only for iphone. Just something to keep in mind...

In terms of the ear fins, they are hit and miss. I don't feel that they really help keep the earbuds in any better than without them, but they aren't uncomfortable either.

Overall, I am satisfied with these for workout headphones.”

“Picked up te head phones based on reviews so I thought I would write one.

Sound: The sound is great, bass/clarity are excellent.

Function: very poor, the first two workouts they stayed in my ear but a week later, they were continuously falling out mid-exercise. This would happen wether I was running, lifting, cross training... anything. Had to return them, I was getting too frustrated fixing them every two seconds.

Haven't really found a good pair for working out yet and trust me I have been through dozens of pairs of headphones.”

“After reading several negative reviews for these headphones, I was hesitant to buy them, but I am sure glad I took a chance on these. The sound quality is excellent and has a solid sound range from the low bass to high treble. The earbuds stay in place during my workouts and I don't have to hassle with pushing them into place every 30 seconds. The earfins are a great option as they help keep the earbuds in your eyes. There are three different earfin and earbud sizes which help you find the perfect match for your ears. Prior to buying these, I bought a pair of Jabra sport bluetooth earphones which I hated. I wanted a good par of wireless headphones, but I would never buy those again. I didn't want to have to buy a set of corded phones, but I was very happy when I tried these out. The cord is plenty long and doesn't get snagged or try to pull the earbuds in your ears which makes for a worry free workout.

Overall, I would definitely recommend these to a friend. They are very comfortable and the sound quality is excellent. As for the sweat proof, only time will tell. I blew through three pairs of the standard iPhone headphones because of sweat and am hoping these last a lot longer. The controls are easy to use and are always in a convenient spot when you need to use them. GREAT PRODUCT!!”

“I have several other Sennheiser products... all of which are great. I previously had Sennheiser "workout" earbuds that were perfect. Unfortunately the 680i's do not measure up at all. I am a mountain bike rider. The wind noise is horrendous. Going downhill they are impossible to hear through. And now the best- after approximately 8 hours of use the buttons do not function. Apparently sweating while involved in athletic activity was not contemplated in the design. Do not waste your money on these. Mine are heading back today.”

Most users have given favorable reviews onSennheiser CX 680i Adidas earbuds, indicating that it is a good product for workout. However, it is not without its shortcomings, such as it has the trouble of cable winding, which is unconvenient to use. And its wearing type is in-ear, which is easy to make the ear uncomfortable, and it will easily slip out of the ear during workout. Therefore, if you expect to find workout headphones with more comfortable wearing experience and powerful function in the market, Wissonly Hi Runner bone conduction headphone are a good recommendation.
