“I bought these to replace a pair of JBL earbuds that I lost. I like them overall, they don't move or fall out while running, doing HIIT or normal everyday activities. The "noise cancelling" feature works well, doesn't completely block all the outside noise, but enough of it to not be distracting. The ambient aware feature works well as long as there isn't a lot of background noise that, I think, confuses the earbuds and it lets it all in. When that happens, I just turn it off and enjoy just the music.

There is a slight delay at times when watching videos but nothing too horrible.

I use these to block out my tinnitus when I'm not working out and they are extremely helpful for that.”

“Ambient is ok, voice pass-through great. They fit well and make a good ear canal seal. Solid EQ with 3 default settings, with each being customizable. The color is a hybrid of gray green and its awesome. I've taken one call on them, and the person on the other side made no mention of difficulty hearing me. The app is pretty good for $90 buds. No opt out ability on their security notice, and third party user info sharing, so I did not register them. Developing some muscle memory for the touch is going to take some time.

I rated this prior to using them in any activity. Today I mowed the yard on our z-turn, and weed wacked (not like I was weight lifting, or running). If anything touches your ear it chances the settings, changes volume, or turns them off. I was really hoping these were the answer because they stay attached to your melon, but the weight of the in ear portion pulls down the buds, which dislodges them from your ear canal. I'm going to return them.”

“I've had numerous types of earbuds, and these are the first that I've gotten with this structure that goes around your ear. They're really great for working out or being active, because with the exception of running head first into a giant bush or something, these are not coming off for really any reason. They stay in, snug, and you don't have to worry about any movement at all. The sound quality is also pretty good as well, although it's not the best I've ever heard... but you have to pay significantly more for an audiophile quality set of buds. For the price, these are really nice. The only issue I have is that they aren't comfortable for long periods of time... after about 45 minutes of wearing them, they make my ears start to hurt a little bit because the part that wraps around your ear is very snug... They're a good buy, but I would point that con out. Overall, they're solid earbuds though!”

“For JBL Endurance 2 users, the Endurance 3 is a decent improvement - the connectivity is consistent (the 2s I have will intermittently cut out for like a half second) and the sound is beefier.

So far I’ve worn these on a couple short runs, a couple half hour rides on the spin bike, and for general yard work. I have not experienced any drops in connection and can hear a noticeable improvement in the sound, particularly the improved bass.

These are NOT comparable to a $300-500 pair of noise canceling headphones so it’s not fair to judge them against top of the line headphones (and I would recommend the JBL 660NC as a budget priced over the ear noise canceling headphones if that’s what you’re looking for). The Endurance 3s are great for what they’re intended to be used for - true wireless water resistant sports ear buds.

As a runner for 25+ years I’ve used tons of wireless headphones and the JBL Endurance 2s were the best I tried before these (despite the occasional connectivity drops) primarily because they fit easily, comfortably, and securely over my ears. The sound of these upgraded 3s is comparable to the Powerbeats 2 (and definitely better than the PB3 in my opinion - although the PB3 were a huge downgrade from the PB2s I used before they died).

For my use I don’t want my ears totally filled with sound because I have to be aware of what’s going on around me when I’m running. The price ($99 at the time of this review) make these Endurance 3s a steal - I’ve been wearing my Endurance 2s for over a year with no noticeable drop in battery life so I expect these 3s to hold up just as well.

Finally, the charging case is one of my favorite improvements. Although the cases look identical, the case for the 2s has a little button to open the case and this is probably minor in the grand scale of things but sometimes my fat fingers couldn’t hit the button on the first try. The case for the 3s eliminates the button and the lid has a firm closure so the ear buds stay securely in the case even without the security of the button closure.

Overall these are a great pair of wireless headphones for my use.”

“These are some high-quality earbuds. The price is steep, yes -- but you do get what you pay for. They stay put very well in my ears, even if I'm biking or running somewhere. They don't feel like they'll slip out. They also are easy to pair up with my phone and can receive calls as well.

They're comfortable in my ears but I do wish that they weren't a bit difficult to deal with it when it comes to making phone calls. It seems as though the phone call only works with one earbud in for some reason -- and sometimes I can hear one earbud louder than the other -- but this happens VERY rarely and is hardly an issue.”

“I'm using these right now to watch a movie - the sound quality is detailed, clear and excellent. They fit comfortably and securely - they stay on no matter my position or how I'm moving. They fit over the ear, so they won't pop out at inopportune moments.

They are not super loud, and the ambient sound sensing setting works well to manage noise in the room when I'm listening, but the low volume means I'm not shutting the whole world out. What they lack in volume they more than make up for with clarity and detail. I hear every sound in the movies I've been watching, and can pick up nice detail when listening to music too. They are a bit short on the bass side, but I find I really don't miss it.

The secure fit means I can wear them everywhere (except bed - the earpieces are a bit large and less comfortable against the pressure of a pillow).”

“Tried a few different brands of ear-hook type ear buds, and these were the best ones I tried. The other one brands were muddy, but these are very nice sounding. The only thing that I wish that it had was a wireless charging case, but unfortunately the case doesn't support wireless charging. “I was really excited when I ordered these. I mean they're JBL so what could go wrong.

The sound quality is decent. But the highs are a bit pronounced and the bass not as much. That can be fixed with my music apps equalizer.

They are a bit of a pain to put on. But for those using them for running or working out that is not as big of a concern as is whether they stay on. And they do stay put very well. All good there.

They are dust and water proof even in salt water. Perfect.

But then you get to the app where you can customize the control gestures. What a mess. You can have ambient sound or volume control, not both. You only get to choose from a group of three preprogrammed sets on each ear. And no matter which you choose voice assistant will be assigned to press and hold because JBL has decided you WILL use voice assistant whether you want to or not (I don't.)

If they didn't go with the forced voice assistant they could've put volume up/down or next and previous track on long press. Then you could have ambient sound (very necessary for ear buds so difficult to put back on after taking off), play/pause, volume control, and next and previous track.

Other earbuds offer complete control over what function you put on any gesture. I expected a lot more at this price point.

Now I just have an expensive pair earbuds for my Bluetooth tv transmitter because all I need there is volume control.

Well, that's if I can get used to touch sensor being in the middle of the earbuds. They show the taps being at the bottom where they are on all earbuds. But it's actually half way up which is awkward and difficult to get used to.”
